Your Guide

Matt Szeto is a certified, licensed, and insured fishing guide, providing half day and full day guided fishing excursions for striped bass, smallmouth bass, chain pickerel and shad. From May through June experience world class striped bass fishing in the Stewiacke River. During this time American shad are also entering rivers to spawn. Shad are excellent fighters and are a blast to catch on a fly rod! During the warmer summer target smallmouth bass and chain pickerel in Kinsac Lake or head off the beaten path to a low pressure lake for a chance at some trophy smallmouth bass.

Striped Bass on the Stewiacke River

$500 (2 guests)

Located 45 minutes from Halifax and 25 minutes from the airport, the Stewiacke River is a world class striped bass fishery. Enjoy a 6 hour trip as we cruise the river in search of large schools of striped bass. You will witness the famous Bay of Fundy tides which are the highest tides in the world. Watch the rolling tidal bore that enters the river daily, raising the river level by 20-30 feet. This fishery is a fly fisherman's dream and a truly unique experience that you can only find here in Nova Scotia! This should be on every anglers bucket list.

Please note that between May 10 and June 10, the Stewiacke River is catch and release only.
